1. What are peptides, and how do they work?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as messengers in your body, triggering specific responses like hormone release, cell repair, or metabolism regulation. They work by signaling your body to perform functions more efficiently and naturally.

2. Are peptides the same as steroids or hormones?

No. Peptides are not steroids. They don’t replace hormones but instead signal your body to produce its own—safely and naturally. Sermorelin, for example, helps boost your natural growth hormone release.

3. Do I need a prescription for peptides?

Yes. All peptides offered through legitimate wellness clinics and telehealth providers—like Zappy Health—require a consultation and prescription from a licensed healthcare provider.

4. Are peptide therapies FDA-approved?

Most compounded peptides are not currently FDA-approved, but they are legally prescribed and made in licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies. Your care is still overseen by licensed providers.

5. Are peptides safe?

When prescribed and used under medical supervision, peptides are generally well-tolerated. However, like any treatment, they may carry risks or side effects. That’s why provider oversight and regular check-ins are essential.

6. How are peptides taken?

Most peptides are administered via subcutaneous injection (just under the skin), often in the belly or thigh. Some may also be available in oral, nasal spray, or topical forms—but injectables are most common for therapeutic use.

7. Do injections hurt?

Not usually! The needle is very small (similar to an insulin needle), and most patients say it's quick and relatively painless.

8. Can I travel with peptide medications?

Yes, but keep your medication in its original packaging and bring a copy of your prescription. For injectable peptides, use a cold pack if refrigeration is required during travel.

9. Can I use peptides with other medications or supplements?

Possibly—but it depends. Always disclose your full medication list during your consultation. Your provider will help ensure there are no interactions or contraindications.

10. Are the results permanent?

Peptides support natural processes, so results can be long-lasting with continued use and healthy habits. However, once you stop taking them, your body may gradually return to its baseline over time.

11. How do I know if peptides are working?

Improvements in sleep, mood, energy, and physical recovery are often early indicators. You can also track measurable changes like skin health, muscle tone, or lab markers over time.

12. How do I store my peptides?

Most injectable peptides should be stored in the refrigerator. Always follow the storage instructions provided with your shipment or consult your provider if unsure.
